My research activity revolves about the characterisation of climate
variability. I developped three axes of research:
- Statistical diagnostics of variability. These include
- time series analyses and software development with the SSA-MTM
Toolkit,
- multi-scale adaptive analyses, like the multi-scale SSA, and
application to paleoclimate and ENSO,
- extreme value and Pareto distributions for climate studies.
- Archives of climate variations for the last millennium:
- ancient meteorological data in Europe or the earliest
measurements in Paris,
- historical chronicles like harvest dates,
- proxy data of temperature, precipitation or forest fires.
- Model simulations of the past centuries, covering the Little Ice
Age
- Climate variations since 1850,
- Climate variations since the Medieval Warm Period.
